Tom grew up in Connecticut and spent many hours skating on anything that froze in the winter. Hockey has always been a passion for him, and has very very fond memories of growing up watching the Hartford Whalers try really hard to occasionally win, sometimes.
After four years at the University of Maine (where he celebrated the 1993 NCAA Division I championship), he found his way to Northern California. He began playing more organized roller hockey, and moved from working in kitchens to the fire department.
Tom started with Marinwood Fire Department as a volunteer in 2000, spent two wildland seasons at Marin County Fire, did his paramedic internship at San Rafael Fire, and landed his current full time job at Southern Marin Fire in 2005.
In 2012, Tom was instrumental in starting the North Bay Guns N Hoses Hockey Club and continues to man the helm and lead the organization as it grows. He is dedicated to helping his brothers and sisters in Public Safety and growing the sport of ice hockey in the North Bay region.
He lives locally with his wife and children.
